The Cotton Suites is located at number 5 Amodu Tijani close off Sanusi Fafunwa Street, Victoria Island. It first opened its doors back in 2013 and makes up for what it lacks in size with top notch service.
The first thing you notice as you drive up to the hotel’s gates at the end of the cul-de-sac is the sign that says “Do Not Use Horn”. The sign suggesting that noise pollution isn’t tolerated in this small residential area which interestingly enough is in close proximity to the business district of the Island. Once the uniformed guards let you into the premises you can’t help but notice the tiny garden with its chairs and the equally tiny parking space. I was informed by the manager that there were suitable provisions for external parking.
The receptionist’s smile is warm and infectious and the sort you get from an old friend. The manager was summoned and I went on a tour of the facilities. There are 15 rooms in this boutique hotel divided into 5 categories, namely – Standard, Deluxe, Executive, Chalet and Executive Premium. Each room is non-smoking and has a writing desk, flat screen LED TV with Satellite channels, dresser, safety deposit box, electric kettle and mini fridge.
Other facilities at the Cotton Suites include the Smoker’s Lounge with an adjoining rooftop area with a pool table, the restaurant and bar which has a sound system and two big screen televisions on the walls so there’s never a dull moment. The menu had a mixture of African, Asian and Continental cuisine and so inviting was that list, I decided to have some Seafood Thermidor for lunch. All I can say is – magnificent.
This hotel in Victoria Island is a great place to go hangout with friends after work over drinks or a hot meal. That means you can enjoy Happy Hour at the bar; between 5 to 10pm it’s 5% off all drinks, all week. Of course if you wish to book a room you should take advantage of the August to September 30th promo which promises a N10, 000 discount on all rooms from Monday to Friday. Or the Corporate flat rate which states all rooms will go for N25, 000 inclusive of complimentary breakfasts and taxes.
The hotel has a lot going for it not just the ambience, or security or the top notch service or even the warmth of the staff. It also has a tradition of constant maintenance which is why it is a favorite hangout of many people of class.
