Opened in 2014 this hotel in Maryland is 3 floors high with a rooftop hall and parking for approximately 9 vehicles. Situated at number 50 Ajose Street Mende all guests have 24 hour Wi-Fi access, courtesy newspapers and due to the sloping nature of the street; a view of the surrounding landscape. The boutique hotel is in close proximity to the Mende open air market and depending on the time of day 15 minutes away from the Ikeja business district and approximately a 25 minute drive from the Local airport.
The Maxton Suites as a total of 21 rooms split into two categories: Standard and Deluxe. Each room is furnished with a comfortable king sized bed, armchair, coffee table, writing desk, flat screen TV with satellite channels, air conditioner and mini fridge. Sadly there is no elevator, gym or swimming pool but guests who pay the full rates get a complimentary breakfast.
Speaking of food, meals and drinks are served at the restaurant/bar on the ground floor. The menu comprises comparatively priced traditional African and Continental dishes. Every last Friday there’s Asun on sale plus a 10% discount off all drinks and food.
The multipurpose hall as I stated in the beginning is right after the 3rd floor at rooftop level, with a bar and enough space for 70 people depending on the seating arrangements.
Chess lovers can join up with the Chess Players Association of Nigeria for friendly games every Saturday and Sunday from 3pm – 9pm.
