This boutique hotel in Victoria Island is located at plot 239 of the popular Muri Okunola Street, right in the heart of the Island’s business district. This means S&S Hotels and Suites is in close proximity to all the major banks, restaurants, lounges, clubs, malls and a mere 20 minutes drive from the Silverbird Cinemas. Guests checking in can relax in the lobby area and read any number of magazines and newspapers placed there by management.
What to expect
S&S Hotels and Suites first opened in 2010 with a total of 20 rooms divided into 3 different categories – Standard, Deluxe and Executive deluxe. Each room is exquisitely finished and has a writing desk, safety deposit box, flat screen TV and mini bar.
Guests have access to 24 hour room service, Broadband internet service, a swimming pool and gym. In addition there is a boardroom that can accommodate up to 30 people depending on the seating arrangement. All rooms without balconies are non smoking but there is a patio and guests may smoke by the pool while enjoying refreshments from the pool bar which is also occasionally a barbecue spot.
When it comes to food the restaurant’s menu boasts of fine continental and traditional cuisine all comparatively priced. Also available are takeaway, home and office delivery services. The S&S Hotels and Suites bar is well stocked and has a wide number of readily available cocktails on offer plus a big screen television so patrons don’t miss important news or sports events.
I ordered the Seafood Okro soup and Pounded yam and in 35 minutes I was salivating over a culinary masterpiece. The soup was not too spicy or salty, with the just the right combination of calamari, shrimps, fresh, smoked and dried fish that made the meal a savory delight. After my meal I had a quick chat with the marketing manager who told me that the S&S Hotels and Suites policy is not to function as an average boutique hotel would. Rather they make an effort to understand what the client wants and in essence customize the hospitality experience to suit the guest.
Conclusion
With that being said I highly recommend the S&S Hotels and Suites to any Victoria Island bound traveler who likes made to order service.
