Hotel Bon Voyage – pure indulgence

Given today’s fast paced world, it is entirely justifiable to want to indulge in some rest and relaxation on occasion. I happened to find the perfect spot to smooth out the rough edges smack dab in the middle of Victoria Island. The hotel is mere minutes away from the closest cinemas and sights.

Hotel Bon Voyage is well suited for the frizzled business traveler in need of some good old fashioned pampering.  First opened in 2009 with a total of 85 spacious and luxuriously furnished rooms (some even have 4 poster beds); the hotel has a 4 star rating, a travel agency, a fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool, a spa and salon on the premises.

Another one of this hotel’s hot selling points is its views of the Kuramo Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean, best experienced from these rooms: Penthouse, Deluxe (Sea view), Junior Suite (Sea view) or while having drinks at the cocktail bar next to the pool. Also poolside is an interesting work of art that shows two palm wine tappers made out of scrap metal climbing live palm trees. Next to that is “the Cave” which is a room all on its own, it has a living room ensuite bathroom and everything in it is designed to appear as if it was built into a cave hence the nickname.

The restaurant is cozy and during my visit packed full of guests enjoying the complimentary breakfast, I was introduced to the Jordanian chef and after observing his work; I soon understood why the food is in such high demand. He is meticulous with preparation and presentation.

Hotel Bon Voyage has a 200 capacity hall and various meeting rooms equipped with state of the art audio visual machines, perfect for those business luncheons and seminars. Security is clearly visible and so are the CCTV cameras on the premises. The personnel are trained to deliver first class service with a promise to treat every guest like royalty.
