Easily accessible from two sides in a prime location, the Eko Hotels & Suites were first established and opened for business on July 27th 1972. Back then it was known as Kuramo Lodge, it has since grown into a mainstay of Lagos’ hospitality and entertainment industry. Growing up my dad favored the Le Meridien Eko Hotel incarnation of this hotel for business lunches. I have never personally booked a room at this fine establishment but I have stayed with friends who did. We never wanted to leave the rooms spacious and super comfortable as they were. I am willing to bet all the rooms have the same effect. I have also had meetings and lunches at the poolside and I predict my unborn child will also have a few business lunches at this hotel.

It has obviously changed management and ownership over the years but for some positive reason the bar keeps getting raised as regards service and hospitality. Eko Hotels & Suites is a favorite venue for many annual beauty pageants, music concerts and comedy shows. Just think about it, everyone who’s anyone has held or is planning to hold an event in its halls. The Eko Hotels possess some of the best conference and banqueting facilities, tastefully furnished to a 7000-seater capacity.

There are 4 hotels on the premises: Eko Signature, Eko Suites, Eko Hotel and Eko Gardens with a total of 825 rooms plus amazing views of the ocean and the fast growing Eko Atlantic City, 8 different restaurants like Sky, Red, Crossroads, 1415, The Grill, Kuramo Sports Café, Lagoon Breeze, Casa Chianti that serve specialties from across the globe: Africa, Asia, America, Italy, Mexico Middle East and Mongolia, 7 different bars, a sauna, a well-equipped gym, one world class swimming pool, meeting rooms, outdoor recreational courts and in-house medical clinic. All these facilities and the superb security in place make Eko Hotels & Suites one of the most preferred hotels in West Africa.

There’s a Nigerian saying that goes “soup wey sweet na money kill am” which literally means that nothing good comes cheap. And while some might say the rates of the Eko Hotels are a bit steep, considering what they have to offer; its money well spent.
