My first time at Maison Fahrenheit was back in April when I joined my brothers and a few friends for drinks at the open roof bar & lounge known to frequent customers as Rue 80. The waiters were surprisingly efficient; they took our orders and brought our drinks promptly. I had heard about them being much slower, so maybe that was a good day. During the course of our conversation I noted the different types of people arriving and departing. Every single person had an air of affluence or confidence and there much more yuppies than old folk. The whole thing was overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the ever changing Lagos skyline.
The group at the table adjacent to ours had ordered a platter and the cool evening breeze had brought the aroma of grilled meat and spices my way. I guess I wasn’t the only one affected because one of my brothers ordered a similar platter for our table. All I can say is it was tasty and small for the price.
Since that night I’ve heard tales of the in house restaurant La Spiga, which is described as a gastronomic gem under the direction of Chef Israel. The cuisine, a combination of international and local dishes is phenomenal, the prices are competitive and the upcoming Christmas Menu is to die for.
The second time around at Maison Fahrenheit I sat in its very comfortable lobby with the manager and took stock of the facilities which include 30 lavishly decorated rooms, a boardroom accommodating up to fifteen persons and a fully equipped conference room with a forty person capacity. Your meetings and conferences can also be catered to your liking from the special Lunch and tea break menus from La Spiga. All guestrooms and public spaces are equipped with complimentary high-speed, wireless internet access.
Of the 30 rooms there are 4 room types, Standard, Executive, Deluxe and Wow, each decorated with its own unique style and personality.
Then there’s the aesthetically pleasing swimming pool and its own cozy bar and lounge space. To think all these luxuries were from a hotel that was barely a year old. The one year anniversary was on the 14th of December and other activities coming up this December at Maison Fahrenheit include the New Year’s Eve countdown at the Rooftop cocktail lounge bar. Happy Hour Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-8pm at the Rooftop bar; on Saturdays they have DJ Java on the mix.
And last but certainly not least is Maison Hot Nights on Mondays and Wednesdays, if you book between 5-8pm you can get 25% discount off the regular rates. Usually that sort of thing suits me just fine… but now I’ll get an even deeper discount from HotelNowNow.com, you should try it too.
