Located a mere 5 minutes away from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport along the International Airport Road the Stop Over Motels was first opened back in 1986 but extensively renovated in 2014. It is one of the first such establishments on to open on that axis and to still be in business today is a testament to its service delivery, class and pedigree.
What to expect
Motels is a bit of a misnomer as this budget ‘hotel’ has a total of 62 non-smoking rooms divided into the following categories – Traveler, Classic, Club and Executive Suites. Each room has a mini fridge, a writing desk, flat screen TV with satellite channels, air conditioner and armchairs. Extra rollaway beds are available for families traveling with kids.
Other facilities at the Stop Over Motels include the bar/lounge and restaurant with a comparatively priced menu of local and continental dishes. There is a 24hour business center, complimentary Wi-Fi, luggage storage, laundry services , an onsite shopping boutique that stocks every last minute item a traveler might need (toiletries, clothes, accessories etc.), car hire service and a car park with space for 30 vehicles.
There are 3 standby generators, a central fire alarm, regularly serviced fire extinguishers and the entire place is secured by high walls, CCTV cameras and uniformed guards.
Conclusion
Stop Over Motels are an excellent option for travelers who need quick access to the International Airport and those who are in town on a budget. It’s also easy to get to Ikeja business district, Apapa or Victoria Island from the Motel.
