Newcastle Hotel – like home only better

Newcastle Hotel is a brand in the hospitality business with reputable hotels in Abuja, Owerri and Lekki. If you reside in Lekki and beyond then the Newcastle Hotel in Lekki is a familiar sight. It is located at Plot 2021, TF Kuboye Road opposite First Bank, Oniru New Market, Lekki or what is popularly known as the alternative route to Victoria Island. This puts guests in close proximity to the Palms Shopping Mall, the delights found in Lekki Phase 1 and the ever busy Elegushi beach is just a 10 minute drive away.

First opened in 2013, this boutique hotel has 52 elegant rooms split in to 3 categories – Deluxe, Royal and Ambassador.  Every guest has access to 24 hour Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV, writing desk, mini fridge and spacious bathroom. Some rooms come with rooftop balconies with amazing views of the surrounding neighborhood and the Lekki –Ajah expressway. Something else I noticed was the quiet, the noise doesn’t make it to the hotel so there’s nothing to fear.

Other facilities include the three expansive halls on the premises that can seat a maximum of 300, 150 and 50 persons respectively.

The pool side is very cozy especially at night with the mood lighting and cool music wafting over the speakers. The restaurant and bar isn’t exactly enormous given the number of rooms on site but somehow they make it work. The menu is comprehensive with reasonably priced drinks, cocktails and both local and Continental cuisine. All things a traveler on a budget likes to hear.

Sadly fitness enthusiasts will have to contend with the fact that there’s no gym but there’s lots of room to jog around the parking lot. The premises are secured by high walls topped by barb wire, uniformed guards and CCTV cameras.

I recommend the Newcastle Hotel Lekki, not only for the weary traveler but even residents who need a few days away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. A weekend at this hotel, poolside with friends and family can work wonders.

Don’t dilly-dally any longer book a room now.
