The Sun & Moon Guesthouse is off Idejo road; at the end of Akarigbere close, just opposite the Eko Gym in Victoria Island. Its exterior isn’t exceptional or even very hotel like. In fact, it looks like a house till you walk in to the reception and see it’s a clean, inexpensive and quiet hideaway right there in the center of busy VI.
There is no bar, gym or swimming pool, no lounge for guests to socialize or a hall for meetings and seminars. The restaurant at the back is small and outsourced with a limited but decent menu.
This just means you might want to dine off the premises at Yellow Chili restaurant, a stone’s throw away in the adjacent street. You can workout at the Eko Gym across the road, visit the ever busy cinemas at the Silverbird Galleria and shopping mall only ten minutes away. If meditation and introspection is your thing, go for cool long walks on the quiet side streets. The hotel staff is pleasant and helpful; I have been there many times now and noticed the manager runs a very tight ship.
If you enjoy a bit of quiet, are on a budget like me and still want to be in the center of things, you should definitely book one of the Sun & Moon’s twenty-two neat, Spartan and colorful rooms today. It won’t break the bank and guess what? They have four rooms that come complete with a kitchen; so if you want to do a little cooking too, it’s fine (don’t worry their fire prevention readiness is up to code).
